Additional Comments: After a close game for the first two periods it was the final period that finally saw the Lions come alive, blasting 8 goals past the Oxford defence. The City Stars changed netminder during that last period, swapping first choice John Tague for John Matassa (both of whom would go on to be Lions netminders). Janne Lehti and Michael Barron both were Lions' highest scorers, with 4+4 each. However, mention should also go to Neil Shea 4+3, Chris Leggatt 2+0 and Geof Williams 0+6. For the Stars the outstanding player was undoubtably Jack Thornton who either scored or assisted with every one of their goals. Officials were Taylor, Wandby and Price. |
