Lions in Print 2005/06

Here are my match reports that the Hackney Gazette featured in the 2005/06 season, plus some other articles written by others that have appeared in the local press etc. The Hackney Gazette never sent me copies of the paper dated 12th and 19th January 2006 so I'm missing those (they should have had my photos printed alongside the reports). If anyone has copies of these papers or the match reports that appeared could they please let me know.

Invicta match report in Hackney Gazette, 09/03/06
	I was pleased to see that the paper followed my recommendation and printed my photo of George Alley to round off coverage of the 2005/06 season. Read the PDF article here.

Milton Keynes match report in Hackney Gazette, 09/03/06

The Hackney Gazette finished off the season by printing my match reports from both games of our final weekend of the 2005/06 season. They were going to illustrate each match report with a photo but the Milton Keynes one was left out.

My Dad mentioning Lee Valley Lions in the Yellow Advertiser, 23/02/06

My Dad was stopped in the street and asked about the signs of Spring. He managed to get the Lee Valley Lions mentioned, so it's worth a mention here. The reporter didn't ask my Dad for his age, so considering he's years old than 36 he's quite chuffed with their guess!

	The Hackney Gazette called our opposition the Oxford All Stars but they did at least print the body of my match report in its entirety. They also opted to use the photo of Scott Beeson that I sent them. Read the PDF article here.

Samaritan's Purse Letter

When t he Lions played Cardiff ENIHL Devils on 10th December players/supporters of both teams took part in a teddy throw at the end of the first period in aid of the Samaritan's Purse charity. Over 100 soft toys were collected and handed to the Samaritan's Purse by Ben Osborne and Paul O'Neill (see Miscellaneous photos page). The charity wrote to thank everyone in a letter addressed to Pete Osborne. Thanks to Pete for scanning it and sending it on to me.

Cardiff match report in Hackney Gazette, 15/12/05
	The Hackney Gazette printed the match report along with a large, colour photo. They asked me for photos of Vas or Rob Courtman and they opted to print the shot of Vas celebrating his first goal for the Lions. Shame they didn't have their minds focused on the Lions when they wrote the headline immediately above the article - it calls us the Racers! Read the PDF article here.
