Additional Comments: After an uneventful start to the first period the Milton Keynes Thunder scored three goals in just over five minutes, the first arriving at 09:13. Their third was on a power play, scored by Captain Mike Knights while Lions' Dan Sampson sat out a 2-mins Holding penalty. Twenty minutes and a 3-goal lead was enough for Thunder netminder Mark Woolf and he retired to the bench for the rest of the game while Kim Taylor took up position between the pipes. Paul O'Neill soon opened the scoring for the Lions at 21:44, assisted by Chris Goddard but Milton Keynes hit back less than 2 minutes later with a goal from MOTM Mark Krater at 23:40. Milton Keynes Thunder called a time-out halfway through the second period for no apparent reason, but Rob Courtman went out and scored the Lions' second at 34:44, assisted by Scott Beeson. Milton Keynes were unable to push past Lee Valley's defence for the few remaining minutes and the Lions won the period 2-1.
Referee was Hayden, Linesmen were Hogarth and Meekison. | ||
