First 2009/10 signings

Confirmed to me as having signed for the Lions’ 2009/10 season are James Hatfull, James Scott-Joseph, Ian Courtney and netminder Ruth Cattrel. Other players’ names are due to be announced shortly, including those of two imports.

Look out for my stolen car

If you spot a silver/grey Peugeot 206cc (convertible) with the personal numberplate of J15 LVL then it is MINE and it has been STOLEN from my driveway, meaning that now I can’t go to work and can’t go on my holiday so please ring the cops.

League update

There will now be 12 teams in our league, meaning we’ll play 11 home and 11 away games. Haringey will be staying in the other half of the league as another team could not afford to move up. Romford Spitfires are no more, but Romford Fury is filling the gap, managed by Mark Bidder.

2009/10 league structure

I’ve received a few details about the way our league will be structured for the 2009/10 season. There will be 11 teams, including us, and every team will play a total of 20 games – 10 home, 10 away.

Haringey will join our league, alongside B teams from Chelmsford and Streatham. Bristol will not be in our league, but the Isle of Wight Raiders will be (they are coming down from the EPL).

The season will begin on 13 September but as yet we don’t have details of when our first game will be. As soon as I know the dates I’ll post them here.

Farewell to Sergei

After three seasons with the Lions, coach Sergei Smolenko has left the club. We thank Sergei for his dedication and commitment and wish him well for the future.
