Tamasauskas Comes Back Home

The Lee Valley Lions are delighted to announce our next addition for 2019-20, as defenceman Daniel Tamasauskas returns to the club after a year away.

The towering 6’7 blueliner came through the Lee Valley junior ranks, captaining the Under 18 side during the 2016-17 season in which he scored 20 points in 13 games.

Lithuanian-born Tamasauskas graduated to the senior Lions side at the back end of that season, playing three games; before moving up to the Lions full-time in 2017-18, scoring one goal and five assists in 22 games.

The 20-year-old spent last season at the Lions’ London rivals, the Haringey Huskies; but now returns home to patrol the blueline for the club at which he started his junior career.

Hong Kong International Jordan Ho is a Lion

The Lee Valley Lions are delighted to announce Hong Kong international forward Jordan Ho as our non-British trained player for the 2019-20 season.

Jordan, full name Sun Yin Ho, started his career in the China International Hockey League Hong Kong (CIHL HK) with the Macau Aces, scoring nine points in ten games in the 2012-13 season.

At the end of that season, he represented Hong Kong internationally for the first time; scoring eight points in seven games as his side lost to Chinese Taipei in the final of the Challenge Cup of Asia. He also won the award for the best plus/minus in that tournament with +22.

He then moved to the UK, representing the Sheffield Bears in BUIHA (British Universities Ice Hockey Association) competition between 2013 and 2017.
During this time, he also played 12 games for the Sheffield Senators in NIHL North 1, scoring one goal and five assists.

In the summer of 2017 he made the switch to Oxford, representing both the Oxford University Blues and the Oxford Vikings in the BUIHA over the last two seasons.

During his entire BUIHA career, he racked up 68 goals and 49 assists for a total of 117 points across 57 games.

He has also represented Hong Kong in Division 3 of the IIHF World Championships four times, scoring a total of 19 points in 21 games between 2014 and 2018.

Now he joins the Lions for the new season, and will be expected to add firepower to the side’s forward ranks.

Berry Back for More

The Lee Valley Lions are delighted to welcome back forward Joe Berry for the 2019-20 season.

Joe has played 11 seasons in total for the Lions, racking up a total of 72 goals and 68 assists in 152 career league games for the club.
These numbers put him ninth in the club’s all-time point and goal scoring rankings; and 15th all-time in assists.

Last season he scored nine goals and assisted on a further 16, for a total of 25 points in 21 games.
Both his assist and point tallies were career highs for the 31-year-old.

Now he returns to the Den, hoping to add to those numbers and help the team to have a successful season.

New Faces Pickering and Wells Added to Lions Roster

The Lee Valley Lions can today confirm two new faces for the 2019-20 roster, as Richie Pickering and Tyrone Wells sign up.

Defenceman Richie Pickering came through the junior hockey ranks in Romford, last playing for Romford U16s in 2012/13 before the Rom Valley Way rink closed down.
Having been out of the game for a few years, Richie impressed at the Lions’ recent open trials and is looking forward to helping the team this season.

Forward Tyrone Wells also joins the Lions this season, having previously played recreational hockey.
Tyrone also impressed at the club’s open try-out sessions, with the Lions hoping he will add scoring prowess to the squad.

Tomorrow we will announce a returnee from last season – stay tuned!
