Hollinshead returns

Team favourite Dylan Hollinshead re-signs with the Lions. Fans will remember his memorable goal against league winners Guildford Phoenix last season and we’re sure there’s plenty more where that came from.
 
Coach Simon Jones had this to say: “Dylan has been an asset to the team and dressing room over the last couple of seasons. Dylan works hard and is committed to improving his game. He listens and follows instructions to the letter, which as a coach is everything that I ask for from my players. I look forward to Dylan continuing to develop this season.”

This weekend’s game postponed

Due to ongoing issues at the rink, the game against Peterborough Phantoms that was due to take place this weekend has been postponed until Sunday 26 October.  We have been informed that the problems will be resolved in time for our game against Invicta Mustangs to go ahead as planned on 20 September.  However, please check back here and on our Facebook page for any further updates.  We apologise for any inconveniece for this situation that is beyond our control.

Miller’s back for more

Gritty forward Joe Miller re-signs for the 25/26 season. Miller opened the scoring in our pre-season game against Nottingham with a cool, calm and collected breakaway goal, so we hope to see plenty more as the league fixtures get under way.

Coach Comments: “Joe is amongst the longest serving players on the team and has consistently worked hard on his game, being willing to do whatever has been asked of him for the team. Joe works hard to put pressure on the opposition and capitalises on the mistakes that he forces. I’m sure he will continue to grind down opponents this season.”

 

Former Lion back in the Den

Ashlee Cave makes his return to the green and blue for the 25/26 season, bringing with him the experience of 280 games in the league, including two previous stints with Lee Valley Lions.

The 6’1 forward looks to slot in perfectly, adding depth with his both his playing and leadership experience. Coach Simon Jones said, “Ashlee is an extremely hard-working player that has a high IQ and can play in all situations. Having played with Ashlee previously I know he will set the tone on the ice and be a valuable voice in the changing room. He adds another layer of depth to our forward group and I know he will be a valuable contributor this season.”

Freeman returns

Joshua Freeman returns for his third season with the Lions. The defender is becoming a staple in the roster from demonstrating his skill on the ice. “Josh is a great member of the team and has huge ability to push on this season,” said Simon Jones, the Lions’ coach. “Josh is very coachable and wants to get better every time he steps on the ice. I’m looking forward to him taking another step forward this season.”
