This week I’m pleased to announce that last season’s Captain, James Hatfull, has re-signed for the team. Although not confirmed just yet, returning to the fold after a couple of years at university is more than likely to be netminder George Alley.

This week’s player news
I’ve received some further information on the coaches and players confirmed so far for the new season.
As mentioned previously, Dave Richards Snr is the official Coach and he will be assisted on the bench for games by Ian Prince. Coaching the team will be Lee Mercer and Blair Dubyk, who has been signed from Bracknell Hornets as our first non-British-trained player. We are still looking to sign a second foreign player.
Adam Peach and Calum Heath have re-signed to the Lions, alongside the other British players announced last week. Joining them will be David Dunnage and Glen Roper, talented young players who made several appearances for the team last season who are now making the move up from the Under 18s.
So far, a further seven players have indicated that they will be signing for the Lions and I hope to be able to announce their names shortly.
