Lions sign two new players

Lee Valley Lions are pleased to announce the signing of two new players to the squad. Tom Looker joins the team from the Romford Raiders. He is a fast, hard-working forward with plenty of English Premier League experience and is returning to hockey after a short break.

Kwabina Oppong-Addai joins from Haringey as a defenceman. Kwabina can also play as a forward should the need arise. He too has played in the EPL.

A team spokesman said, “These two players will increase the strength of the squad. Having players of their calibre with EPL experience who are willing to commit themselves to our team is a boost to the current players’ morale.”

Press release

The Lee Valley Lions are disappointed to announce that Graham Bellamy, Kevin Murphy and Owen Murphy have asked to be released from the team.

The main reason for asking for their release was the amount of travelling involved from where they live in Berkshire to Lee Valley for training and games. The club wishes them well, wherever they go.

Lee Valley Lions sign Romanas Fedotovas

Romanas FedotovasLee Valley Lions are pleased to announce the signing of Romanas Fedotovas. Vas, as he is more usually known, has most recently been playing for the Eastern Stars recreational hockey team. Originally a forward, Vas is now a hard working defenceman. He comes with a good pedigree and represented Lithuania at junior level.

Vas’ first game will be away to Haringey in the Challenge game on 17th September, face-off 5.30pm. His first game at home will be against the Streatham Redskins on 24th September, face-off 5.45pm.

Lots of developments to be announced soon

I’ve spoken with the new Lions’ Manager this evening. There will be plenty of news on the team coming within the next couple of weeks. I can reveal that the team’s first game will be against Haringey on 3rd September and it’s hoped a pre-season friendly can be arranged before then. The team colours will be back to white/green/blue.
