Dylan stays on at the Den

A big welcome back to our #20 Dylan Hollinshead who returns for his 2nd season in the green and blue.

The enthusiastic youngster joined the Lions last summer, playing as both a defenceman and a forward in his first season with us.

Coach Jonesy’s comments: “Dylan is fantastic to coach.

He is eager to learn and that showed in his improvement last season.

Dylan is one of the first to arrive to training and games and embraces whatever role he is given to help the team.

I am looking forward to overseeing his development this season and I am sure he will continue to take great steps forward and help the team.”

Leer is a Lion once again

A big welcome back to our #53 Mitch Leer who begins his 3rd year in the green and blue.

The versatile Mitch first joined the Lions in the summer of 2022, and can play either as a forward or on the blueline.

Coach Jonesy’s comments: “Mitch loves the game and has offered a lot to the team over the last couple of years.

As someone that came into the sport quite late he has made rapid improvement both in terms of his ability but also hockey IQ.

As well as this Mitch offers a lot off of the ice and is a great guy to have in the room with his positivity and encouragement.”

Thank you Brian Winstanley!

After playing the last two seasons with the Lions, defenceman Brian Winstanley is hanging up his skates.

After a number of years out of the game, the former Cardiff Redhawks man joined us in the summer of 2022 and made an impression straight away with his solid defensive play.

He was always a calm and reliable presence on the blueline, and chipped in with 3 assists in his 34 games in a Lee Valley jersey as well.

Thank you Brian – you will be missed!

Clegg-Vinell continues with Lions

Number 13 is unlucky for some, but not for our #13 Raphael Clegg-Vinell who returns for his 2nd season as a Lion.

Welcome back to the Green and Blue, Raph!

Coach Jonesy’s comments: “Raph joined us last season after a period away from competitive ice hockey.

He made great progress as the season went on.

He brings a really calm approach to the game and is a solid player with a high hockey IQ.

Raph is one of our most consistent players and I look forward to him having a big year this season.”

Fan favourite Allen returns

Tajah Allen re-signs for what will be his third season kitting up in the green and blue.

We’re excited to see what he does this season – welcome back to our #6!

Coach Jonesy’s comments: “Tajah had a really strong 2023-24 season and became a firm fan-favourite as the season progressed.

He has bags of talent and I am sure he will take great strides forwards this season and be a key contributor at both ends of the ice.

Undoubtedly Tajah has the potential to be a difference maker in this league and is always keen to improve.

I think with the addition of some experienced players this year Tajah’s development will accelerate and we will see the impact on the ice.”
