Another returns to the Den

Zion joined the Lions in the 23/24 season from NIHL1 and quickly became one of the team’s best defender prospects. Last season was derailed with injuries, so we are so excited to see him back to fitness.
 
Coach’s comments: “Zion is a solid player that has huge potential to be one of the best defenders in NIHL 2. He is quick, has solid fundamentals and is not afraid to do the hard work in the corners. Last season was a bit disrupted for Zion with one or two injuries, so I am looking forward to seeing him take a big step forward this season.”

A return for Tajah Allen

Fan favourite Tajah Allen re-signs for the 25/26 season. Last season was a great year for Taj, with 16 points over the season and cup (including a crazy 5-goal game). How many he will get this season?
 
Simon, Lions’ coach said: “Tajah brings speed and a fearless attitude to every game. Tajah took on a larger role last year and I believe he can be a regular contributor at both ends of the ice this season. I know that Tajah is driven to be the best player he can be and I am sure he will continue to grow this season.”

Kobe’s back for more

Young talent Kobe Grinell-Parke re-signs with the Lions for the 25/26 season, looking to hone his natural talent while on a two way with Romford Buccaneers NIHL1. He showed real promise last year and we can’t wait to see what he does this year.
 
Coach’s comments: “I’m delighted to have Kobe on board again this season. Kobe works exceptionally hard and is extremely coachable. As well as this he brings a lot of quality to the line-up. I’m expecting a lot from Kobe this season and I know he will do all he can to push on and be a difference-maker in NIHL2.”

He’s back…

Everyone’s favourite forward, Seb Downing, re-signs with the Lions for the 25/26 season. 
Seb spent a couple years in NIHL1 as well as a year in Canada and he looks to build on the promising start he had with the Lions last season.

Coach Simon Jones commented: “Seb joined us last season and had an instant impact both on the ice and in the changing room. Seb was a big part of our team last season and adds more skill and depth to the roster this year.”

 

Stevie signs

Ex-NIHL1 assistant captain Stevie Dunnage joins the Lions for 2025/26. He adds a wealth of talent and skill to the blue line after some time away from league hockey. We can’t wait to see what he does in the forthcoming season.

Coach Simon enthused: “To add a player of Stevie’s quality and experience is fantastic for our team. Stevie brings skill, toughness and composure to the blue line and will be another strong voice in the dressing room. The players and coaching team are excited to have Stevie as part of the team and look forward to his impact on and off the ice.”
