2012/13 Fixtures

The fixtures for the 2012/13 season are on the EIHA’s website, so I have posted them onto the Fixtures & Results 2012/13 page using the Fixtures Live plugin. At the moment it’s showing both last season’s results and the forthcoming season’s fixtures, but hopefully someone in the company will correct this.

Our first home home game will be on 2 September, against Slough Jets, with Wight Link away the following week. As some of you know, I have moved away from London so won’t be taking photos or writing match reports this season. If you would like to volunteer to do either of these, please let me know and I will forward your offer to the team’s management. I started this website back in 2001 and will be continuing as normal. I look forward to seeing the Lions on the road in places closer to my new home, eg Cardiff and Bristol.

New season’s signings

I’m pleased to announce that last season’s players have remained loyal to the Lions and the following have already re-registered with us:

  • Jack Ball
  • Alan Go
  • Adam Peach
  • James Scott-Joseph
  • James Hatfull
  • Josh Irish
  • Phil Carson

Another four players are due to sign very shortly, along with netminders, so I’ll post their names as soon as I’ve received confirmation of who they are.

Lions on YouTube for Vicks.

Lions players George Alley, Joe Berry, James Scott-Joseph, club coach Phil O’Neill and former player Gennadi Yufit filmed an advert for Vicks last summer. The advert was shown on Swedish television in conjunction with the IIHF World Championships.

Awards Night & Thanks.

Last night we hosted our awards presentation at the Hare & Hounds in Leyton. The awards handed out for the season were as follows:

Coach’s Player of the Year: James Gosling
Joint Players’ Player of the Year: Richard Hodge & Adam Peach
Leading goal scorer: Blair Dubyk
Leading assists: Scott Beeson
Leading goalie: Steve Grout

Thanks to Beverly Irish, Eddie Joseph, all involved in running the team and to you, the supporters for sticking with us this year.

See you in September.
