Stevie signs

Ex-NIHL1 assistant captain Stevie Dunnage joins the Lions for 2025/26. He adds a wealth of talent and skill to the blue line after some time away from league hockey. We can’t wait to see what he does in the forthcoming season.

Coach Simon enthused: “To add a player of Stevie’s quality and experience is fantastic for our team. Stevie brings skill, toughness and composure to the blue line and will be another strong voice in the dressing room. The players and coaching team are excited to have Stevie as part of the team and look forward to his impact on and off the ice.”

Clayton returns

Forward Daniel Clayton re-signs to the Lions. Having put up 276 points in the league he looks to add to that total in the 25/26 season.

Coach Simon Jones said, “Dan joined us midway through last year and gave us a strong voice in the changing room as well as added depth and quality on the ice. Dan played through injury for much of his stint last year and I know he has been working hard to be ready for this season. He’s a very experienced and talented player that I look forward to working with again this season.”

League favourite returns

We are pleased to announce the return of netminder Ethan Frain, who was voted top goalie by the league’s managers and coaches for the 2024/25 season.

This will be Ethan’s second full season with the green and blue and we can’t wait to see how he builds on his all-star quality performances from last season.

Coach Simon Jones had this to say: “Ethan was the backbone of our team last season and deservedly was named as an All-Star. Ethan brings bags of talent as well as valuable experience to the team. I am thrilled to have the best goalie in the league between the pipes for us next year.”

Top points-scorer re-signs

Lions’ top points-scorer from 2024/25, Nathan Awoyemi, re-signs for the 2025/26 season.
Nathan joins for his third season with the Lions after being one of the team’s stand-out players last year. We can’t wait to see what he does this year.  Coach Simon Jones commented, “Nathan is one of the most talented players in the league and he demonstrated that last season. He has a calming presence on the ice, but works as hard as anyone every shift. I am looking forward to him taking another step forward this season to further put his stamp on the league.”

We start our 25/26 season with the signing of NIHL1 import Vilius Krakauskas. He joins the Lions as our first import for the 25/26 season. After putting up over 100 points in NIHL1, the Lithuanian national looks to make his mark with the green and blue.

Coach Simon Jones commented, “The opportunity to sign a player of Vilius’ quality rarely presents itself and I am very excited about what he will bring to the team this season. In addition to bringing his obvious talent he has a wealth of knowledge to help the whole team grow. I am excited to work with such a high level of talent this season.”
