Additional Comments:

The first period was a bad-tempered affair, it would appear from the Match Report. Eddie Joseph, Mike Fafard and Andy Leggatt all got Roughing penalties (5-mins for Faf). George Powell ended up with 2+5+10 for Roughing and this was only 03:30 into the game!!!

Still, we were unlucky to lose this match, especially when we had taken a 5-0 lead in the first 15 minutes. However, the Seagulls then scored 4 goals in just over 3 minutes, to end the period 5-4 to the Lions.

The second period saw Faf score a hat-trick, assisted on all 3 goals by Lee Whale, who scored a total of 6 assists in this game. We went into the locker room 10-8 in front and were 12-8 in front, thanks to goals from Janne and Faf. However, the Seagulls came fighting back and at 58:21 the score was 13-13 after Faf scored his 7th goal of the night.

Just when you thought that was it for the night Blackpool’s Gary Sherman fired in their 14th and winning goal. A devastatingly close result that just didn’t go the Lions’ way in the end.

This was only the 6th game Mike Fafard had played in for the Lions but he had already scored an incredible 32 goals (plus 18 assists) out of the 69 goals Lions had scored in total! During those 6 games we conceded 85 goals, but it’s best not to think too much about that!
