Additional Comments: Chris Leggatt deserved his MOTM award, scoring 2+1 against Slough, who were always at the top or hovering near the top of the league. In fact the whole Lee Valley team did well to end with a tie against such a team, although we’d actually been winning quite convincingly. Although we were 2-2 at the end of the first period we’d shot up to 6-2 by the end of the second. Slough came to life in the final period , scoring 7 goals to our 3 and had called a fruitless Time-Out at 59:04. Tripping was the favoured penalty during this match, with Dave Ducharme receiving 2-mins for this. For Slough Paul Watkins also received 2-mins, but then a further three 2-mins Tripping penalties followed, all given to Gary Stefan!!! Referee was Batchelder, Linesmen were Harber and Harris. |
