Additional Comments:

Both teams changed their netminders during the course of this challenge match: Lions changed from Jim Graves to Liem Le Huyen at the end of the second period but then reverted back again at 43:30! The Australians changed from Paul Cracknell to Timothy Hulme at 27:49.

Of Lions’ 12 goals, two were Power Plays and one was Short-Handed.

The game was played in the spirit in which it was intended, hence the low level of penalties. In fact, the first of the Australians’ three 2-mins penalties was just for having too many men on the ice! The only peculiarity for Lions fans was seeing Adam McGuiness playing for the opposition! Adam used to play for the Macquarie Bears in Sydney.

Referee was Meier, Linesmen were Dadswell and Feehan.
