Additional Comments: A very satisfying win over “local derby” rivals Romford, especially as it was the only time we managed to beat them all season! Paul Grech had a good game as well as Darcy and Fred, scoring 2+3. However, Paul was in the Sin Bin for Holding when Romford scored their first goal at 11:13, making it a Power Play goal. Fred was really on a roll in this game, as Lions’ 2nd to 7th goals were all scored by him – 5 in a row! This feat was especially admirable as Fred had missed the two previous games because he’d had to return to Canada for family reasons. Although the official statistics state that Romford scored 6 goals, it was clear to LVL fans that our own Rob McCaig was responsible for Raiders’ 5th goal, rather than one of their own! This game saw a couple of unusual penalties being dished out. At 22:47 Jon Beckett received 5+Match for a Face Mask Violation! This was served by Michael Michael. Later, at 22:47, Romford’s Richard Tomalin also received 5+Match, this time for Pulling Hair!!! Jim Wonnacott sat in the Bin for this one. Referee was McLaughlin, Linesmen were Norcott and Feehan. |
