Additional Comments:

Sadly the Lions started the game with the disadvantage of having made a 900-mile round trip to Paisley the night before. At the time Slough were the conference leaders but had just lost their overall division lead to Milton Keynes Kings. The Lions had already played 3, lost 3 against Slough during this season and this game was to be no exception!

The strength of the Slough side showed in their strong defence, goalie Charlie Colon enjoying only a 3.86 GPG (goals per game) average, and with an 88.52% save average he was top of the netminder league.

Slough also had ex-Lion Derek Higon in their team and he showed he still felt at home in the Den by scoring 4+1 against us! The final score could also have ended up being 4-14 if Slough hadn’t had a goal disallowed at 17:58, when it was considered that the puck had been “hand passed” rather than just slapped down.

Referee was Ross, Linesmen were Dadswell and fans’ “favourite” Ashraff.
