Additional Comments: We thought we’d got this game boxed off, running away with a 5-0 lead by the end of the first period and still winning 7-4 by the 40:00 buzzer, but sadly Lions’ stamina was to let them down once again, leaving Trafford to stage a massive comeback in the final 20 minutes. Both teams called a Time-Out in the last period, Trafford at 52:13 and Lions at 59:39 when we pulled Simon Wren. Sadly this didn’t allow us to score a goal but instead Trafford got the last one of the match with just 10 seconds left on the clock, at 59:50. Darcy had a great game but mention should also go to Al Brown with 2+2 and Andrew Dickson with 3+2. The Trafford Metros included ex-LVL import Ari Pekka-Mikkola, who used to celebrate scoring a goal by turning a somersault! Referee was Cloutman, Linesmen were Long and Bassett. |
