Ex-Lions netminder, Jim Graves, brings his Team Ireland players to London on 20th February 2005 for a match against the Streatham Redskins. The Streatham Redskins’ site has more information about the game….
The Redskins are my team these days and Lions fans may be interested to know that several ex-Lions are involved with the Redskins.
Steve James and Adam Goldstone have managerial and coaching roles, while Victor Somfaleanu, Octavian Sersea and Steve Paris are out on the ice.
Streatham games are only a fiver and the chips are nice, so go and give them some support.
Tony Hinkley kindly sent me some Lions memorabilia recently, including lots of copies of Roar, which was the Supporters’ Club newsletter. I’ve converted 8 so far to PDF format and they’re on the Lions in Print page….
There are quite a few more editions of Roar to convert, plus some other Lions-related documents that Tony sent me. They’ll all be uploaded over the coming months.
I realised that I had kept a British Engine paper hat with the Lions logo on (never worn, I hasten to add), so I’ve taken a photo of it and added it to the Memorabilia page too.
When I was a young Lions fan I bought a programme holder and got lots of the players to sign it. I’ve uploaded photos of this and leave it to you to decipher the signatures. I’ve also uploaded a Supporters’ Club application form from the 1988/89 season – both are on the Memorabilia page.
