Quoted from the LVL programme of 08/11/87…
“Tonight Eddie Joseph should play his 150th game for the Lions, having missed only 8 matches since the Lions were formed back in February 1984.
Eddie is the epitome of the “club man”. Since he joined the rookie Lions in 1984 he has shown the kind of loyalty rarely found in this semi-amateur sport.
He has seen many changes to the squad and has played alongside some memorable names. Gordon, Wurthman, Watson, Fish, Pennanen, Arvila, Lehti, Shea, Barron, Fafard and now Lycka, McEwen and Hardie.
All players must have a degree of luck to reach such high standards of loyalty… although that let him down when his wife gave birth to his baby on the day of an Autumn Cup match at Nottingham to half his run at 108 consecutive appearances.
Apart from some long-term help from the Craig family, Eddie has never received much financial help from the club and this highlights his loyalty even more.
A true club man with his heart in Lee Valley… a Lion heart!”
