Don’t miss Saturday’s local derby
The Lions make the short trip up to Ally Pally this coming Saturday for the local derby against Haringey Racers. There’s an article about this upcoming game on the Ice Hockey Review website, featuring quotes from Racer (and ex-Lion) Lee Mercer and Lions’ own Romanas Fedotovas.
Alex needs wheels! Help Paul O’Neill achieve Ironman challenge
Former Lion, Paul O’Neill, is training hard for a half-Ironman event on 18 May – this will consist of a 2km swim, 90km cycle and a half-marathon run. Why is Paul putting himself through all this? To raise €4000 to buy a new wheelchair for a little lad called Alex, who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. You can see how Paul’s getting along by heading over to the Alex Needs Wheels group page on Facebook. You can also make a donation via PayPal, contact Paul about the cause or ask to join the Facebook group using the email address of muscles4muscles at gmail dot com (written in the email format, obviously – I’m trying to avoid Paul getting spammed to oblivion by writing it like this).
Photos from Wightlink game
Those following the Lions via Facebook and Twitter will already be aware that Nicky Craft has posted some great photos from last weekend’s not-so-great away game against Wightlink Tigers, on Flickr. For everyone else who’s not already seen them, they’re here.
